Dear family and friends, it is an honor to be standing before you today as a newlywed wife. As many of you know, I come from a small town in the countryside, and I never imagined that I would one day be standing here in this beautiful wedding dress, speaking to all of you in a language that is not my mother tongue. But as fate would have it, life took me on a journey far beyond my imaginations, a journey that brought me to this very moment in time. So on this special day, I would like to take a moment to reflect upon my journey as a faraway bride and share some of my thoughts and feelings with you.
Leaving the Nest
Leaving one's family and country is never an easy task. Nevertheless, sometimes we need to take a leap of faith and step out of our comfort zone to discover and embrace new possibilities. I remember when I made the decision to marry my husband, I knew I was leaving behind everything I had ever known, my beloved family, my friends, my culture, my language, and my roots. But at the same time, I had found love, and I knew I had to follow my heart. So, with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit, I took the first step towards a new life.
Blending Two Worlds
Being married to someone from a different culture has been an adventure in and of itself. My husband and I come from two very distinct cultures, with different beliefs, values, customs, traditions, and even foods. Our journey together has made me appreciate the beauty and diversity of the human race, and the incredible ways in which love can bring people from different backgrounds together. Together, we have learnt to blend our two worlds, and create a new one that we both call home. Today, our wedding ceremony is a reflection of our two worlds coming together, and I hope that it can be an inspiration to all of you to embrace diversity and celebrate love in all its forms.
Gratefulness and Hope
Lastly, I want to express my gratitude to all of you who have travelled from far and wide to share this special day with us. Your presence here today makes this moment even more magical, and I am truly grateful for your love and support. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to my new family, who have welcomed me with open arms, and shown me nothing but kindness and love. As I start this new chapter of my life, I am filled with hope and optimism for the future. Whatever challenges and blessings may come our way, I know that I have found my partner in life, and together, we will navigate through all that life has to offer. Thank you once again, from the bottom of my heart.
